Michael Forbes graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2002. Michael has continued his studies and obtained the following credentials: PCCA trained and certified in Hormone Restoration, Medisca trained and certified in Hormone Restoration, and Xenex trained and certified in Veterinary Compounding. Michael is a member in good standing of the BC College of Pharmacists and is an active member of the North American Menopause Society.
Pharmacist by trade and a business man by nature, Michael began building his chain of Pharmacies at the age of 25. In 2005 he opened the doors to the first of many Forbes Pharmacies, which run under the Drug Trading banner.
Each one of Forbes’ Pharmacies is unique to their patients needs and each has had a positive impact on the local municipality. Michael had a goal, that once the Pharmacy was established he would give back the surrounding community. Forbes Pharmacy is committed to giving back and is known for their community involvement. They raise funds to assist patients, donate to local schools and have worked in partnership with SPCA and the Langford Fire Department to raise money and awareness for the treatment of animals and Cystic Fibrosis. The Forbes Team is proud of their annual Christmas Drive where a number of families with limited income receive armfuls of gifts which are generously donated from the staff.
Michael is now the Founding President of The Forbes Group which includes: four Forbes Pharmacies, True Space Media, Ageless Me, apartment buildings and Casino Royale Rentals. Michael is well known in the business community and has established strong relationships with his patients, medical professionals, and members of the community. He advocates for improving the local communities around him and has had proven success. His most recent project is the opening of IdealMe – Your healthy diet solution.
Michael’s interest in health stems from his pharmaceutical work and helping his many patients. However, his interest in his own personal health flourished with the birth of his son. He did not want to be the dad that sat by the sidelines – he wanted to set an example for him as well as play along with him. Michael was inspired by Tim Ferris’ book ‘The Four Hour Body.’ This personal growth and inspiration catapulted research into health and nutrition leading him to bring Kristi Meredith alongside him and create IdealMe.
